Transition Town
Transition Towns are communities who come up with innovating projects to tackle the challenges of economic stagnation, climate change, and peak oil.
Strategies could include
- reskilling
- rebuilding community resilience
- relocalisation
- food currencies
- energy decent planning
- tradable energy quotas
Golygfa Gwydyr and our volunteers from the community are already addresing some of these issues through
- Golygfa Gwydyr Job Club
- Golygfa Gwydyr Community Garden
- Golygfa Gwydyr Social Forestry Enterprise
- Crafty Knits
- Rainbow Women
- Caerdroia Community Orchard
- Caerdroia Education and Training Provision
- Mindfulness for the individual and the community
- Volunteer Initiatives (Gwirvol, Millennium Volunteers) and opportunities
We also hope to start producing food and food products from both the community garden and the Caerdroia community orchard project.
