Making Tracks
Who are Making Tracks?
Making Tracks is a horticulture and Environment Project that ‘supports people to move forward, gain skills, create green spaces and improve the local environment’. Making Tracks works with offenders and with people on rehabilitation and reparation programmes. Their service helps reduce incidents of anti social behaviour, reduce crime and change people’s lives through use of horticulture and environmental programmes within the community.
How is Making Tracks involved with Golygfa Gwydyr?
To develop and maintain the Caerdroia site we have formed a partnership with Making Tracks. Youths from socially excluded groups have taken part in environmental conservation work to maintain the Caerdroia pathways and they have built performance areas for Heuldro Gaeaf.
We will shortly be starting an EU European Social Fund project to carry out pond reclamation and construction of compost toilets at the site. The project will provide opportunity for local Llanrwst out of work people to gain valuable skills to travel the distance back into the job market.
To find out more about getting involved with us on the Pond and Compost Toilets project or with other upcoming work with Making Tracks at the Caerdroia contact Wyn Roberts at Golygfa Gwydyr 01492 641415.
