Geocaching: is a form of treasure hunt using GPS, in which an item is hidden somewhere in the world and its coordinates posted on the Internet, so that GPS users can locate it. visit www.geocaching.com to find out more if you don’t already know.
There are numerous Geocaches in and around the Gwydyr Forest for you to discover. There is also one at our Caerdroia Forest Labyrinth site:
Caerdroia is a Welsh word meaning ‘the Castle of Turning’ or ‘the Labyrinth’. It also has a much more profound meaning, as to walk Caerdroia is to explore the place of one’s soul and the powerful energy of the solstices and the the turning of the sun.
The cache lies at the beginning of the maze and also near a lovely spot to sit and have lunch. You shouldn’t have a great deal of trouble with muggles up here, although you may spot the odd passing cyclist.
PLEASE do not be tempted to walk down the bike trails to approach or leave this cache. Parking can be found at Sawbench car park (Marin Trail start), Gwydyr Uchaf or Nant BH.
There are many routes to this location so be adventurous and find yourself an interesting path. Please don’t forget to write about your journey either to the cache site or around the maze.
There’s a lot to explore up here so give yourself plenty of time.
